The device (1) has a synchronization loss projection device (7) for monitoring a condition of a turn of a lathe i.e. fuel pump actuator, for detecting an indication of the lathe that switches into a condition of a synchronization loss. A drive control device (4) stops a drive of the lathe when the indication is detected, to bring the lathe to a freely running condition. A control unit controls the lathe. The projection device detects a number of revolutions of the lathe, and compares detected number of revolutions with a normal number of revolutions of the lathe.
