The device has a radio transmitter (55) for radio transmission of position signals at a radio receiver (58) attached to a shield. The radio receiver is connected with a long wall face control device by a shield control device (34) of the shield. Position signals of shield units are accessed to a dismounting unit (1) to a time of a commanding gift for command production of dismounting functions such as stepping, robbing and setting. Actual measured values are applied as a value for alignment with a feed rate of a dismantling machine and conveyors, and are made visible on a screen.
