An engine oil vane pump with a variable displacement comprises a displacement control for controlling the displacement of the pump. The control comprises a cam ring in a housing, which by means of an axis of rotation with a wall of the housing is connected. The cam ring internally by sliding wing is in engagement. A control chamber is indicated by the cam ring and the housing wall defined. A control opening provides for a forwarding of control oil from a pressurized source of the control chamber. A venting chamber is generally opposite to the control chamber, and is inserted through the cam ring and the housing wall defined. An evacuation chamber is indicated by the cam ring and the housing wall is defined and is generally between the control chamber and of the venting chamber arranged. A discharge opening provides for a communication between the control chamber and the emptying chamber. A vent opening provides for a communication between the venting chamber and the emptying chamber.
