A capacitive sensor comprising electrodes interdigitated on an insulating support

The gauge has a hollow cylindrical shaped isolating support comprising inner and outer surfaces. Interdigital reference and measurement electrodes disposed on the inner surface of the support have the shape of labyrinth with finger shaped loops that are overlapped with each other, where the loops extend vertically. The support has, on its outer surface, a conductive coating playing the role of an electrostatic protection shield. An independent claim is also included for a method of fabricating a capacitive gauge.
