The assembly has an actuating system with a roof carrying structure to which front and rear rigid covering elements of a retractable roof are connected so as to be actuated between utilization and storage positions. The carrying structure is integrated to a structure of a vehicle in transversal position via lateral structures (14). Protection armatures (15) are provided on both sides of the carrying structure, where each armature is integrated to one of the lateral structures to increase mechanical resistance of the lateral structure and to deploy a part of the armature towards top.
