The crosspiece (12) is displaced relative to the crosspiece (32) to follow displacement of a pad. The rods cooperate with the locking elements in case of front impact, such that the crosspiece (12) is fixed with respect to the crosspiece (32) and a user is supported against the crosspiece (12) by inertia effect.
