The assembly (1) has a bumper band (12) extending between upper and lower air inlet openings (4, 6) of a monoblock bumper skin (2) and separating the openings. Upper and lower grids (8, 10) are arranged transversally in the openings, respectively. A cover (14) covers the bumper band so as to be fixed to the band. The cover has an upper flange (42) covering a joint between adjacent edges of the band and the upper grid. The cover is adhered on the band, and is in a form of decoration band. The upper flange has a ratchet tooth on the upper grid.
