摘要

The method involves determining temperature of exhaust gas at an inlet of a particle filter (3) by using a temperature sensor (5), and determining values of parameters such as nitrogen oxide concentration and particle mass present in the filter. Co-efficients respectively corresponding to relative impact of the concentration on burnt particle mass, the temperature on the burnt particle mass and particle mass present in the filter on the burnt particle mass, are determined. The burnt particle mass is calculated by multiplying the co-efficients.
