PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of preventing sticking of slag in hot scarfer equipment for preventing the sticking of the slag which is blown off by hot scarfing to a hood shutter, and the hot scarfer equipment.;SOLUTION: In the method of preventing the sticking of the slag of the hot scarfer equipment for preventing the slag from sticking to the hood shutter 7 of the hot scarfer hood 5 by blowing-off of the slag produced by performing melt-cutting of the surface of steel 1 with high-pressure water from a water nozzle 4, a curtain for catching the slag is formed by arranging a spray train 10 between the hood shutter 7 and the water nozzle 4 and spraying water spray or steam spray from this spray train 10.
