PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To calculate optimally adjusted parameters of rolling control by identifying friction coefficients of the whole of a rolling machine and by performing, based on the obtained friction coefficients, a simulation to reproduce a rolling state.;SOLUTION: A dynamic model of rolling is previously prepared. Concerning a temporal change of rolling loads or roll gaps at a plurality of rolling stands when accelerating or decelerating a rolling material, the difference between a calculated value of the temporal change, which is obtained from the dynamic model of rolling, and an actual value of the temporal change is made minimum by optimizing a friction coefficient parameter or a deformation resistance parameter at each rolling stand.
