PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pulverized coal firing boiler capable of suppressing of corrosion of a furnace wall and temperature rise of flame by preventing collision of flames, and reducing both of NOx and CO by reducing remaining of unburnt combustible content near the furnace wall.;SOLUTION: This pulverized coal firing boiler comprises the furnace 100 constituting the boiler, a plurality of burners 9 disposed in a plurality of stages respectively at lower portions of a front wall 3 and a back wall 4 of a furnace wall surface for supplying the pulverized coal as fuel and the air into the furnace and burning them, and a plurality of after air ports 14, 15 for supplying the after burning air to the furnace wall surface at an upper portion with respect to an installation position of the burners, installation positions of the burners 9 disposed at the front wall of the furnace are not vertically aligned with the burners 9 disposed at the back wall of the furnace so that they are not overlapped to each other in the height direction, and the number of burners 9 disposed at the uppermost stage of the burners disposed in the plurality of stages is smaller than the number of burners disposed at the lower stages.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
