PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a temperature controlling device for a cylindrical base body, the device capable of uniformly controlling the temperature elevation of a cylindrical base body, which rotates while accepting heat from an external heat generating body, along the axial direction.;SOLUTION: The temperature controlling device for a cylindrical base body has a cylindrical elastic body to come into contact with the whole inner face of a cylindrical base body that rotates while accepting heat from an external heat generating body, supplies a liquid as a coolant to the inner part of the cylindrical elastic body so as to suppress temperature elevation of the cylindrical base body and control the temperature. The thickness of the cylindrical elastic body is larger at a supply port for the coolant to flow in the inner part of the temperature controlling device and smaller in a discharge port side.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
