PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical cross connect device (system) capable of reducing at least the number of devices and the number of optical fiber wirings in the device and allowing an extension for every optical fiber line, thereby reducing initial introduction cost.;SOLUTION: The optical cross connect device includes: a first WSS which selects signal light of a wavelength multiplex number W input from a WDM transmission line and outputs it to N pieces of lines and includes on an input side; a second WSS which accommodates wavelength multiplex transmission lines from the N lines and selectively outputs based on a wavelength a wavelength multiplex signal of the N-line wavelength multiplex number W input from the first WSS on an output side; a wavelength converting means in which the wavelength multiplex signal from the second WSS is received by an optical receiver and which includes an optical sender to output a predetermined wavelength, and an AWG which multiplexes out W wavelengths input from the wavelength converting means.
