PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the intake cooling efficiency while properly keeping the loadability to an engine room, in an intake device for an engine where the engine and an automatic transmission(AT) are horizontally loaded, the engine room is made compact in the longitudinal direction of a vehicle, and a turbo supercharger and an intercooler are mounted on an intake path of the engine. SOLUTION: An intercooler 9 is mounted at a side of an AT in the car width direction to a radiator 1. A ventilating space 31 through which the air from the intercooler 9 passes, is mounted between a battery 26 mounted at an upper part of the AT and an engine 3. A second intake pipe 14 at an upstream side of the turbo supercharger 8 and a fourth intake pipe 16 at a downstream side are mounted on the ventilating space 31 in such a manner that they are extended in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle. The downstream side of the fourth intake pipe 16 is mounted in such a manner that it is overlapped to an intercooler core 19 when observed from the longitudinal direction of the vehicle.
