PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for determining an optimum value that can appropriately determine whether or not a solution computed by a genetic algorithm is an optimum value.;SOLUTION: The apparatus for determining an optimum value comprises a variation assignment part 7 for assigning predetermined variations to a solution at a time point in a mutation part 6 and individuals providing it, and creating a histogram of evaluation values of the individuals with the variations assigned and calculating the mean and variance of the evaluation values, and a determination part 8 for comparing such histograms of evaluation values of the individuals with varying variations assigned by the variation assignment part 7 to determine whether or not there is regularity in the histograms of evaluation values, and if there is regularity, determining that the solution is an optimum value.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
