PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disease and insect pest-controlling agent for crops of fruits and vegetables, prepared by utilizing a plant active ingredient (plant essence) exhibiting insect-proof and antimicrobial activity possessed by the plant itself, and to provide a method and an apparatus for controlling the disease and the insect pest in a greenhouse installation by using the disease and insect pest-controlling agent. PSOLUTION: The disease and insect pest-controlling agent for the crops of fruits and vegetables is a solution obtained by adding an allyl isothiocyanate component originated from Wasabia japonica or produced by synthesis, to a solution obtained by grinding or pulverizing pepper and garlic, and extracting capsaicin and allicin components therefrom with Shochu (Japanese distilled spirit). The apparatus for controlling the disease and the insect pest in the greenhouse installation is made by installing one or more apparatuses for spraying and scattering the disease and insect pest-controlling agent as it is or a diluted solution thereof in an upper space in the greenhouse installation. The apparatus is mainly constituted of a power fan for forming a circulating flow in the atmosphere in the greenhouse installation, and an addition nozzle for allowing the solution to be accompanied with the air flow at the outlet of the fan by being sprayed.
