PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently group and manage image data of an object by using an ID for displaying object specification information. PSOLUTION: When an object and an ID are photographed by using a digital camera, the time information of the photographing time is respectively recorded in object image data and ID image data as incidental data. An image data management apparatus identifies the ID image data from the object image data. Object image data having the time information of photographing time included in a prescribed time range around the photographing time indicated by the time information recorded as the incidental data of the ID image data as the incidental data are merged as one group. Further, character recognition processing for the identified ID image data is executed and object specification information related to the object which is displayed in the ID are converted into character data.
