PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connecting structure for a steel ceiling joist capable of simply conducting the connecting work of steel ceiling joists together and efficiently conducting the execution work of a ceiling. ;SOLUTION: The end sections of the steel ceiling joists 2A and 2B are arranged to abut each other in series to connect the steel ceiling joists 2A and 2B in series. A joint member 4 is thrust from above so as to set astride the butt section of the steel ceiling joists 2A and 2B. A pair of side wall pinch sections 4a and 4b pinch the side sections of the steel ceiling joists 2A and 2B while being elastically deformed. The coupling member 4d of the joint member is inserted into the grooves 2c of the steel ceiling joists 2A, 2B. Screw members 6 are driven into the steel ceiling joists 2A and 2B by utilizing the screw holes (not shown in the figure) provided on a pair of side wall pinch sections 4a and 4b.
