PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the starting characteristics of a system in which power is supplied from a power source apparatus in a method and an apparatus for controlling the power source apparatus.;SOLUTION: The method for controlling the power source apparatus comprises a step of connecting a first battery of a low output voltage which functions as the power source apparatus of a starter for starting an engine of a vehicle to a second battery of a high-output voltage via a DC/DC converter. The method further comprises the step of charging the first battery by using the second battery to turn the DC/DC converter to an on-state. The method also comprises steps of switching the DC/DC converter from an off-state to the on-state when a door lock of the vehicle is unlocked before the starter is started to be driven, and starting the charging of the first battery using the second battery.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
