The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for changing frozen raw materials into a product, which is like a certain raw-material snow with the purpose of being able to work with their qualities, for example, by mixing them with other materials, and handling them in various ways without thawing them. The method is executed with a shredder or apparatus, which can be operated at the common storage temperature of frozen products, and the materials/snow will, upon such handling, be easy for continued working under common freezing storage temperatures, and allows control of factors such as the size of the particles, the mixing proportions, pressing, binding, and the format in order for them to serve diverse purposes, alone or mixed with other materials without them being subjected to immediate ruin. The method may be useful in the bait industry and in the fish-farming fodder industry, as well as the method providing vast opportunities in the processing of frozen foods.
