A method for prognostication of hypothyroidism development in patients of elderly and senile age, suffering from the pulmonary chronic obstructive diseases, by the assessment of thyrotrophic hormone level and antithyroid antibodies consists in that the initial level of thyrotrophic hormone is determined in blood and the risk of hypothyroidism development is calculated.
