The method for hydrogen extraction through a partial anaerobic decomposition of biological material, comprises splitting the biological material through an enzymatic hydrolysis, acidifying by the help of bacteria in acidogenic and acetogenic step and then transforming to acid and/or material with acidic character. Released hydrogen at the cathode and released oxygen at the anode together with carbon dioxide are removed in the acidogenic and acetogenic step by applying constant electric field. An independent claim is included for a device for hydrogen extraction through a partial anaerobic decomposition of biological material.
