This invention relates to a nuclearconditional male sterility system in Brassica napus.Embodiments of the invention provide for the (malesterile) prebasic female (MsMsrfrf), the (male fertile)maintainer line (msmsrfrf), the (male sterile) basic femaleline (Msmsrfrf), and hybrid lines. Further providedare methods for the production of those lines. Furtherembodiments of the invention relate to markers associatedto the sterility, fertility and maintainer alleles and the useof those markers in providing a hybrid system.
