The invention relates to a modified bitumen composition and methods for producing said composition, more particularly to a modified bitumen composition with improved properties for conditions of extreme temperature as found in most parts of the world. Said composition of modified bitumen has a content of adipic acid less than1% by weight off the composition, the adipic acid being introduced by a particular method. The performance of said bitumen is characterised by the gain in the hot softening point called the ring-and-ball temperature (TBA).
