A method of preparing porous silicon carbide and the porous silicon carbide prepared thereby are provided to obtain excellent process stability and to improve processing efficiency. A method of preparing porous silicon carbide comprises the following steps of: manufacturing slurry by spraying a mixture uniformly through a ball milling after adding silicon carbide powder in a freezing medium; freezing the slurry after pouring the slurry in a mold; forming a porous molding product by removing a freeze medium; and sintering the molding product.
