A RNA binding protein Napor-3 gene of which expression is suppressed in a brain of fetal rat is provided to identify the act of ethanol which suppresses the gene expression at the stage of developing a nervous tissue of fetal rat. A RNA binding protein Napor-3 gene is transcribed to mRNA of the sequence number 1 and the gene expression is suppressed by ethanol in a brain of fetal rat. The expression of domain comprising 4561th~4645th nucleotide of Napor-3 gene mRNA and mRNA domain having 95% homology with the domain having the nucleotides is inhibited by ethanol. The brain of fetal rat is a mesencephalon, hindbrain, and hippocampus.
