Seal for sealing joint areas of adjoining components and for sealing thermally stressed ceramic parts, comprises an extruded plastic ceramic mass, a graphite carrier, mineral components, synthetic resins, and a plastic film
The seal for sealing joint areas of adjoining components and for sealing thermally stressed ceramic parts, comprises an extruded plastic ceramic mass, a graphite carrier with 15-45 mass percentage, mineral components, synthetic resins, and a plastic film. The seal is formed as flat circular ring with a top side (2), a lower surface (3), a radially rotating external wall (4) and a radially rotating inner wall (5), which delimits a central recess (6). Polar and/or nonpolar solvents, e.g. water, alcohols or resins are contained in the mineral components for securing plastic characteristics. The mineral component has fireproof characteristics. The carrier comprises pitch. The plastic film is arranged around the sealing compound. The seal is powdered or dusted with a powdery medium e.g. aluminum-dust, graphite dust, talcum powder-dust or other mineral or metallic dust, in order to avoid adhering of the seals among themselves with the storage and/or adhering of the seals during removing and applying. The seal is coated or impregnated with latex-milk after the shaping process, has a thickness of 5-15 mm, and possesses conical sealing surfaces, where a cone basis wall, an opposite cone bottom wall, an inner radially-rotating cone wall and an outer radially-rotating cone wall are present. The internal cone wall delimits an outlet. The sealing surfaces possess a shaped, uneven, ribbed surface. Independent claims are included for: (1) sealing mass for the production of a seal; and (2) method for the production of a seal.
