The switch (10) has a fixed counter contact (23) and a base (22) provided at a housing (11), and a temperature-dependent control unit (16) arranged in the housing. A bimetal or trimetal snap disk (19) is deformed during cooling under room temperature such that the snap disk acts on a bistable spring washer (17) to transform the spring washer from one configuration into another configuration. The spring washer presses a movable contact part (18) on the counter contact in the former configuration and holds the contact part at a distance from the counter contact in the latter configuration.
