The method involves stimulating an ear drum (10) of a user with an acoustic signal. Oscillations of the stimulated ear drum are received and evaluated for obtaining a value of an adjustment parameter for a hearing aid (16) e.g. behind-the-ear-hearing aid. The hearing aid is adjusted with the value of the adjustment parameter. Data about a hearing threshold of the user is obtained during evaluating, and is used for adjusting the hearing aid. A sound audiometry is implemented for evaluating vibrations and for adjusting the hearing aid. An independent claim is also included for an adjusting device for adjusting of a hearing aid to a hearing ability of a user.
