The device has a metal belt (6) rotating over deflection pulleys (3-5), where the belt and two set of optical elements e.g. blinds (7-10), are formed as a single piece. A set of optical elements is brought to a preset rotating position in a radiation course of a monitoring and/or illuminating optical path of an optical device i.e. microscope. Another set of optical elements is brought to another preset rotating position in another radiation course.
