The Radio-frequency identification (RFID)transponder comprises an antenna with a high quality factor (LR), where a resonant capacitor (CR) is coupled with the antenna for provision of a resonance circuit. A symmetrical radio frequency-input stage changes the quality factor and the resonant capacitor such that the quality factor is low during the downward data transfer when the RFID transponder receives data through the antenna. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a RFID system with a read or write unit; and (2) a method for operating a RFID transponder.
