The element (1) has a circular disk (3) provided with a rectangular axial cross section and flat surfaces (4, 5) that are opposite to the cross section. A mass (6) of a material that deforms under pressure is applied on one of the flat surfaces. The mass is pressed on and/or between defective edge sealing rings (9, 14) of a pipe connection piece (2) and fills out defective positions (8, 12) of the pipe connection piece. Mass construction is fixed on the flat surfaces through the form of the edge sealing rings of the pipe connection piece. The mass is made of plastic. An independent claim is also included for a method for repairing of damaged connection pipe pieces in a carbon dioxide-cooling system of a vehicle.
