The device has a buffer (104) supplying an amount of energy for charging an energy storage (102) e.g. capacitor. Another buffer (106) supplies another amount of energy for charging the storage. A controller causes a delayed supply of the amounts of energy to the storage. The controller accomplishes the repeated delayed supply. The controller controls switches (114, 116), where the former amount of energy is supplied to the storage when the switch (114) is in a switching condition and the latter amount of energy is supplied to the storage when the switch (116) is in the condition. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for charging an energy storage (2) a computer program with a program code unit for performing a method for charging an energy storage (3) a computer program product with a program code unit, which is stored on a computer-readable data medium, for performing a method for charging an energy storage.
