The device has a main processing device and individual drive devices (14-16), which are connected together by a communication line (34). A safety device (42) feeds a power supply unit (43) to electric motors (10-12) of a manipulator by a switching unit of a safety line (30) and by safety elements (52-54). A switching device (45) comprises a dual contact point for connecting power to the safety line, and another contact point for supplying the power to a power line. The drive devices are connected together with a power supply line (40) by connection lines (31-33).
