The device fastens a stator (3) at an opening (11) of a housing (2) of an electric machine (1), where the stator has a set of projections (15) at a front side (13) in an insertion direction (12). The projections axially project in the insertion direction and bend radially outwards or in a peripheral direction of the machine housing. The projections fit at walls of the machine housing in the peripheral direction and are arranged at a uniform distance from each other in the peripheral direction of the stator.
