The electric arc wire burner (1) has a gas supply (7) for supplying gas flow in direction to an electric arc (5). The gas supply has a jet arrangement and a gas channel conducted for the jet arrangement. The jet arrangement has a jet nozzle which has a cross-sectional profile expanded in the direction of flow from an entry cross-section (11) to an exit cross-section (12). The jet arrangement has a front nozzle (13) that is arranged upstream the jet nozzle and is aligned to the jet nozzle in a coaxial manner.
