The element has a base plate (10) fixed on a body-fixed component and to a bumper using a retainer (24), where the base plate includes a reinforcement rib (20) and a recess (18). The base plate includes connecting elements (14a, 14b) for connecting an additional component e.g. cable, stiffening element of a bumper lining, part of a headlight cleaning system, pipe, of a motor vehicle to the impact element. The base plate is manufactured from a deformable plastic using a thermo-plastic injection molding process. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing an impact element.
