The method involves defining multiple climatic conditions, and assigning adjusting parameters to climatic conditions for controlling respective climate control units (8). The climatic conditions are selected by a control unit (2) and an indicator (5), which provide control options. The climate control units are controlled or regulated with the assigned adjusting parameters during selection of one of the climatic conditions. The climate control units are provided with blowers, disk heaters and/or seat heaters. The conditions are related to winter morning and summer noontime. An independent claim is also included for a control mechanism for an air conditioning system of a vehicle.
