The method involves conditioning carrier air (11) by humidity and/or temperature, and atomizing hydrogen peroxide into small droplets (45) in an atomizer nozzle. The carrier air is injected into a hot taper container (31) over an intersectioned smaller surface (311) of the taper container. The carrier air is supplied, with reduced upward speed and against the droplets of the hydrogen peroxide, to the taper container by a supplying device. The device is arranged over an intersectioned larger surface (312) of the container. An independent claim is also included for a device for developing a sterilization or decontamination medium in form of vapor mixture of hydrogen peroxide with air.
