Device has an adjustment module (10) constituted by a RC circuit to insert a termination impedance in a connection plug (P), when the plug is not connected to a high rate VDSL (Very high bit-rate Digital Subscriber Line) type modem. Coupling module (20) couples with the adjustment module when the modem is connected to the plug, to transform the inserted impedance such that the plug is transparent to high rate transmission of broad band services. An independent claim is also included for a copper terminal installation with an impedance matching device.
