The method for tracking the deformation of a metal part subjected to a pressing force (F) comprises steps of measuring the displacement (d) of the metal part at a zone of deformation, measuring the intensity of the the pressure force (F), calculated during a first period of the constant ratio (alpha) between the intensity of the pressure force (F) and the displacement (d) of the metal part, and determination at during a second period, from the constant ratio (alpha) and displacement (d) measured during said second period, displacement values related to an elastic deformation (de) and to a plastic deformation (dp) of the part metal.Use especially for straightening or forming a metal part.
