The shelter has an arch shaped small element (4) i.e. driven element, including driving units (8) with front driving rollers (9) supported on flat ground. The element and an arch shaped intermediate element (3) i.e. static element, are arranged for being moved together along a longitudinal direction between folded and deployed positions. The elements (3, 4) have respective stringers (3a, 4a) with lateral complementary lifting units (17) that partially lift the element (3) when the elements are in or attain the folded position, such that part of weight of the element (3) acts on the rollers.
