The method involves forming a population of young ducks by inbreeding of homozygote ducks having red eyes with female ducks having non-red eyes. The obtained population is sorted relative to a color of the eyes into male duck or female duck by using sorting units (9A, 9B). Capturing of an eye of each young duck is carried out, and the capturing of the eye is analyzed to define the color of the eyes. The young duck is classified based on the analysis of capturing of the eye for sorting the population of the young ducks. An independent claim is also included for an installation for sexing population of young ducks.
