Cyclic peptides having a random alternation of L-alpha -aminoacyl residues and aza-beta 3-aminoacyl residues (A), are new. Cyclic peptides having a random alternation of L-alpha -aminoacyl residues and aza-beta 3-aminoacyl residues of formula (-NH-N(R 1)-CH 2-C(=O)-) (A), are new. R 1lateral chain comprising proteogenic or non-proteogenic group. Provided that, two L-alpha -aminoacyl residues are separated by at least one aza-beta 3-aminoacyl residues and total number of L-alpha -aminoacyl residues and aza-beta 3-aminoacyl residues is 4-8.
