The method involves storing travel limits during detection of physical stops, in a travel limit learning mode. Mobile body i.e. apron, is stopped by logical processing units in a normal actuating mode of the body, when the stored travel limits are approached by the mobile body. Electronic circuit i.e. controller, of the units and a movement detection unit i.e. angle coder, of the body are fed in a continuous manner by considering movement of the body when an electric motor is not actuated. The body is passed to the learning mode during the detection of powering of the circuit. An independent claim is also included for an opening and closing device comprising a mobile body.
