This invention aims to establish a new system of phylogenetic classification and identification of bacteria by using Dihydropteroate synthase( DHPS) gene instead of using S16 and Gyrase B genes. The new system covers some of the defects of the S16 and has the advantage over the gyraseB system in having shorter chain of the nucleotides to be sequenced. The same procedure for identification of bacteria was followed in this new system using DHPS gene which has never been used before as a base of a phylogenetic tree. Suggested new tree was established from the data available in the gene banks, where more than 260 bacterial strains of cocci, bacill, gram positive gram negative,fastidious,pathogenic and non-pathogenic DHPS genes were included. Newly suggested system classifies the Important human pathogenic bacteria could into 49 separate clusters of similar groups of organisms. In this respect the system was found to be quite satisfactory and can be regarded as a new system.
