PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that it was difficult for a conventional multicast communication system to manage a recipient-side data receiving status or service providing status only with receiving-side dependent protocols.;SOLUTION: A multicast communication system employing an IP network for distributing multicast data from a content server through a routing apparatus to a client device includes a proxy authentication server device and includes: an authentication requesting means for receiving a reception request message transmitted from the client device connected to a port of the routing apparatus and transmitting the authentication request to the proxy authentication server device; an authentication means for authenticating whether to permit distribution to the client device specified by the authentication request received from the routing apparatus; an authentication response means for transmitting an authentication response indicating a result of the authentication by the authentication means to the routing apparatus; and a transmission control means for transmitting multicast data to the client device only when the authentication response received from the proxy authentication server device indicates a permission.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
