PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing an electrophotographic photoreceptor having a cross-linked surface layer which is free from hollow defect, has satisfactory coated film quality, excellent in cleaning property and also excellent in electric characteristic and abrasion resistance, and also to provide the photoreceptor materializing preferable image formation over a long term.;SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the electrophotographic photoreceptor having at least a photosensitive layer and the surface layer on a conductive support comprises: a process of coating the surface with surface layer coating liquid containing crosslinkable monomer according to spray coating; and a process of curing the coated film to form a cross-linked surface layer having a thickness of 3.8 μm or less. A particle size D90 of droplets sprayed from a spray gun upon the spray coating is less than 5 μm. Therein, D90 presents the cumulative value of 90% of each droplet particle size distribution when atomizing the coating liquid by spraying and measuring the droplet particle size distribution 100 times with an interval of 0.1 s.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
