PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical system for detecting abrasion wear of a trolley wire and a device for measuring abrasion wear of a trolley wire that are small in device height and minimized.;SOLUTION: This optical system for detecting abrasion wear of the trolley wire includes a light projection unit that generates slit-like projection light, with a plurality of monochromatic light sources arranged in the rail crossing direction and radiates it to a sliding surface of the trolley wire. The optical system converts the projection light into pulse-like light by pulse-driving the light projection unit at a predetermined period, and irradiates it to the sliding surface of the trolley wire. Then, the optical system acquires a detection signal, regarding the sliding surface using the difference between light receiving signal of the reflected light from the trolley wire, when the projection light is irradiated and that when the projection light is not irradiated.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
