PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for increasing the ethanol concentration in silage safely and inexpensively, and further sufficiently even when the outside air temperature is 30C in order to suppress growing of molds or secondary fermentation during production, or unsealing or feeding of the silage, and to provide the silage in which the ethanol concentration is increased by the method. PSOLUTION: The method for increasing the ethanol concentration in the silage includes: adding a starch hydrolase to a silage raw material containing moisture and a starch raw material; and hermetically sealing and storing the resultant material.
